Auto manufacturers want to design the most efficient and relevant vehicles for their target audience and people with active lifestyles want vehicles that can keep up with their adventurous activity. The Active Lifestyle Vehicle Award finds those vehicles and recognizes the top five.In late 2007, a panel of renowned automotive journalists and premier endurance athletes tested and evaluated more than 40 new vehicles for their safety, environmental friendliness, all-terrain capability and cargo versatility. The jury's experience spanned off-road driving experts to professional race car drivers to triathletes and beyond.Manufacturers could enter their vehicles in five categories:Best value Best value off-roadLuxury Luxury off-roadMinivanBest value categories required that the MSRP be under $30,000, the luxury categories were over $30,000 and minivans could come in at any price.With over 21 manufactures making the cut, it was the most entries the program has ever received.This fourth annual competition was co-sponsored by the Active Network and Gen-A media and marketing. Dodge Grand Caravan beat out Toyota Sienna as for the Best Minivan.
